Unglazed Tiles Stain.
All unglazed tiles and grout are porous. The degree of porosity will
vary between different tiles and grout. This porosity make tiles and grout
susceptible to staining. |
 |
Sealing Assists When Spillages Occur.
Sealing an unglazed tile or grout reduces the porosity and provides great
stain resistance. When spillages occur, as they inevitably do, you will
have more time to mop up spillages before staining occurs. |

Different Sealers Available.
There are various sealers on the market today and they generally fall into
two categories - penetrating or coating. We can advise which sealer will
be the best suit your situation to provide years of service. |
 |
Penetrating Sealers
Provide
maximum stain resistance without changing the appearance of the tile.
These are used on grout, porcelain and where a natural look is desired on
terracotta. |
 |
Coating
Sealers
Available in low or high sheen and are typically used internally
on slate and terracotta. |
